Ok, for the record, I stayed up... almost 36 hours, but towards the end, there were micro-naps until I decided to call it quits.

Since then, I've been getting up at around 6-630am for the last couple of days, and so far it's consistent. I don't even fight it (sleep) anymore cuz I know that if I do, all of what I did would've been for naught, and I would have to do it all over again. I have to say, I'm not as engineered as I thought to do that sort of thing. Now 10 years ago...

Tomorrow, I have to drive Poppy to the dentist to get one of his wisdom teeth taken out. He hasn't seen a dentist in... well, let's just say that you can count on a single hand. But get this, the day before yesterday, in some weird compensation, his other 2 teeth on the left side starts to hurt a lot worse than the tooth he's getting taken out tomorrow! If they weren't so broke, would've got all of them out. Now they're talking about getting mine taken out. I've had like either 1/2 or more than half of my teeth taken out -- last one about a couple of years ago. Baby tooth actually.
So, naturally, when Poppy said that, I freaked out. Of course, he rants on how if he never cared about my teeth jacked up... and well, he just went into rant mode -- something he is doing quite often. Remind me to find/avoid trigger words. -_-

Plus, I hope I can get the job at the Columbus Library, not because I don't feel confident, but I am missing my SS card. We tore up the house looking for it, and frankly, I am a little concerned. I don't want to be turned away just because I can't find my SS card.

Luckily, I went to the SS website, and there's an office I can go to to get my replacement card. Once that goes over, I can just ask for a reciept stating that the card is on the way, and hopefully when I turn in my app, I'll just notify them of that. I'm hoping, because I really do need a job. I feel like I'm wasting some of my life away just sitting at home. I guess, I've gotten past the recovery portion and now I'm just ready to do something. It's 19 hours a week, $10.82, I've no one else to worry about besides myself and no bills to pay... so in that regard, I have it real easy, especially nowadays. I can't complain about anything. Whine, a little, but not that much.

Ah, btw, remember I said last time about the one part of the dream I couldn't tell you? Well, I'm still not going to tell you about it, but I got an idea~

Hour 19 1/2 (I can't count, Walmart)

*glances at clock*

I know it will be officially 24hrs when it's 3. My cognitive skills in math is quite lacking. *shrug*

So, between loads of laundry -- all I have to do now is put the load that's in the washer -- I went to Walmart after I couch dove (literally), searched every corner in my room and bathroom. Quarters and dimes, since I never seem to have bills on me. 9 bucks of quarters and dimes. I'm no longer embarrassed by that, it's just one of those things you kinda go through.

Anyway, I went STRAIGHT for the NOS drinks -- the choice for me right now, it's quite potent -- and my eyes just glanced over the price. I forgot my cellphone in my room, so I couldn't calculate all the tax in and crap. 2 for $5! It was like $2.80something for 1. And given my situation, I NEED the caffeine and energy and... peppyness. I got a slight headache but meh, this is nothing.

Hour... 15/16? (Laundry)

  • Post a comment

That...sounds about right, ne. I've been up since 3pm(ish) yesterday. So that...sounds about right. I don't know, my math kinda sucks -- telling time included.

So, I got fed up with waiting for the washer/dryer to be freed, not to mention this past weekend the 'rents were debating on what washer to get (the LG or the Whirlpool -- my thing is, laundry could be done in like an hour).

Other than that, I really don't have anything to do (yet). Just... trying to uh...

*pon* I had this dream la--- the night before, this AWESOME dream. I don't know what caused it but most likely the 'theatrical' Metal Gear Solid trailer. Watched that epic badassery about 10 times. The weird thing about it is that, somehow (most or about half) of the Mugiwara Crew --aka Strawhat Crew from One Piece were in it. There were some villains (well, I don't know one really is...) and well, it just played out like a Metal Gear. For some reason though the vast majority are  third person and most of the time I'm not in it. This time I'm sorta am.

The only vivid parts I remember, is that I was with Franky and Sanji, and we were about to enter this odd room that looked like ...Corey and Shawn's (?) apartment in Boy Meets World, in hopes of getting away from whatever the hell that was chasing us. I had like a foot in the door, and I hear Aokiji talking more to us than himself, saying that the Marines won't show any mercy and he certainly won't either. I distinctively remember waving them off (they didn't hear Aokiji) and kept asking me what was wrong -- and I was just mouthing the words "just run" until they got it, but it was kinda late at that point.

But parts of it were just... I don't know, crazy. There was one part I could tell you about, but it could be kinda taken out of context. No, nothing like but, I'm afraid it won't come out right. But, let's just say I hope it will happen. :3

*facepalm* (I want a new bed, and I'm a messy person)

Ok, I conclude that I have a really high tolerance of caffiene. So, I drank some NOS -- it had about 343mg and that was in a 8oz serving. It came in a huge 22/24oz bottle.

Let's just say, I'm so buying it [even though it has a broke Red Bull taste]. I was HAPPY!

Anyway, the... weekly discussion about my lair/batcave/fortress room came about when I was in the family room, about how it's such a mess -- clothes on the floor, stuff scattered everywhere, food wrappings stuffed under my bed and elsewhere (that they don't know about -- house rule is that we can't eat in the room besides the kitchen table). I'm working on it, really. It's a bad habit, yeah, but I kinda like having stuff all over the place. I don't like it when it's too clean (and especially if I haven't done it) because I can never find anything. Call it piece of mind, whatever. That's just how I work (now).

Well, my dad said something about rearranging my bed to where I can't stuff anything on the side of the bed. Mom told me they were thinking about moving me to the back room (which is a tad smaller). That somehow devolved into me asking about a new bed frame, to free up space in my room and all of that, a loft bed from Ikea -- face it, that store is fantastic. Cheap, sturdy, and stylist...from Sweden.

This is what I had in mind:

Bed I want

Of course, Mom was basically hell-to-the-naw, and said I'm almost 20 years old (2 months, hurray...<_<), and it was something a... well, a much younger person would do. I looked over to my dad with a look as I told him it would save space and all of that, but he also pointed out that I still build blanket forts/tents (not ashamed of it) all because of the little Barbie tent I had when I was around... oh, 4? Not to mention, I have something of an overimagination thing going on (which I said). Of course, Mom somehow says I'm crazy for even doing that, Poppy asked how many sane writers there are (read: few) and...

Long story short, I got uhm, a bit chastised by my suggestion. Dad said there's nothing wrong with my current bed (other than the fact I keep leaving ink spots in the comforter and mattress. Sue me, I like to write in bed...) and besides, it was paid for. The loft bed is only $249...

Later on, measured my bed and compared to the Ikea bed. It would save about a foot and a half either way (which is a lot of space -- I have a Queen bed and I don't use all of it). I can deal with less space though to be honest. I just wish that the frame wasn't in all silver -- I dunno black would've been GREAT..

The Energy Drink Experiment - Rocket Shots (Bottles 1 and 2) of 4

  • Apr 9, 2008
  • Post a comment

Ok. Remember the other day, that I said that there was another brand of ... "energy shots" next to the 5hour Chasers? Well, I got them too. They were $4.23 for a box of 4, which isn't all that bad considering that it's 1.8oz each and, well, it's less expensive in that regard (compare 5hour with $4.83 with just two bottles, 2oz each).

There's not many reviews on it, but from what I read, it has a decent kick but the taste that as the 5hour (read: gross), varies. Apparently, I didn't shake up the 5hour which lead to the nasty... anyway, my point is, I shook it up and I downed it with like 3 gulps. It was alright, except that last gulp, it kinda went sour after that.

About  3 hours passed. I felt nothing (like I said before, maybe it's because I have tolerance to this kind of stuff). So, the rouge in me said to take another one. So, after dinner (or lunch, they tend to run together) I chugged another one. 15 minutes rolled by.

And suddenly...

I was feeling perky. I'm talking about for like an hour, my personality kinda switched off. I felt energetic and perky, and, well, how can I put this. It was like an out of body experience.

Like I said though, it lasted for about an hour. And the crash? Horrendous. I almost fell asleep after it, but due to the NCAA 'ship was on my tv at the time, I mustered the strength to stay up (to 7:30am apparently).

In other words, I'd have to drink 2 to feel it, but that crash is a doozie.

Sidenote: Redline

I thought about testing out the Redline energy drink.

Then I started reading the reviews.

I am not going to drink it. At all. A lot more people have really bad reactions -- talking about ER visits. Some actually died. But, my thing is, some didn't read the directions. "Not recommended for anyone under 18, health issues, 15 pounds overweight, sensitivity to caffeine take it with food, etc." They said take 1/2 a bottle to get used to it. Maybe 1/4. It has a lot of fucking caffeine and other ingredients.

I don't know if they're exaggerations (the only way to prove it is to go on Youtube) But, I'm not gonna risk it, since I'm fairly small (5'2, 126lbs). Maybe some other time.

The Chaser 5 hour Experiment - Full Stomach (Bottle #1)

  • Apr 7, 2008
  • Post a comment

Alright. Yesterday/this morning I decided to do an experiment, much like the sleep experiment I did the other day.

So, I got $4 from my dad, and in total I had $7 to work with, pretty much if I would to get something to eat while I was out. Under the guise of dropping the books at the library and getting fresh air, I went to the post exchange on Ft. Benning (otherwise known as the PX -- it's basically a mall for military people) and after a ha, situation, I immediately went to the supplement aisle. There was no sign of the Chaser's and I was mildly disappointed. Hey, when you don't have to pay taxes, it happens.

So, I went to Wal-mart #1, and they did have it. In a 2-pack no less, for about $4.98. But, I'm so used to checking out via the Self-checkout, and I was a little miffed they didn't have it (and it just opened, and it's a Supercenter...sigh), more so later, I went to Wal-mart #2 that's a couple miles away from my house, and I saw it again. Oh, I neglected to mention it was in the supplement aisle... and lo-and behold there it was, 2pack, for $4.48. It was $4.83 tax included. There was another brand in a box - contained 4 and it was about $3.something, but I saw it at #1 and man, it was about half the size of the Chaser. I paid, and I was filled with glee that I could now test it.

But, I had to conceal the item (stuff it in my purse) so I can use it at my own discretion. After a steak-and-rice dinner and a shower, I broke out bottle #1. I was cautious at first -- not because of the reviews, no -- but the way it smelled. It was berry flavored, but we all know how that turned out. So, after bullshitting around for about three minutes, I took my first sip.

Good lord.

It tasted fine going in, but going down, good god. It... I've only sipped on alcohol a few times (appletini, a mix from Outback, and cheap champagne at a party) and it... it burned. Man, I gagged a little. It doesn't have a medicine taste at all, but it just burned! After a few minutes, I downed some more, up to half, and I sat there. Zilch. And, I finished it within a few minutes. I think next time I shall cut it down with water, or pour it in a shotglass. Blech. I didn't get a flush, but I got and still have a bit of the itchiness. Well, I take that back, my stomach got warm, but that's it. Pulse slightly jumped but nothing too bad.

It's been about 3-4 hours ago, and I haven't experienced a jump in energy at all. Fidgeting (rollin') and scratching, yeah, but that's about it. Either I have drunken so many energy drinks that I have a high tolerance of caffeine  -- which is probably the case, or I just used it wrong. Not to mention, I'm gonna try to find more potent drinks, maybe in GNC or Vitamin Shoppe if/when mom runs out of Animal Parade.

So, next time it will be:

  • Empty Stomach
  • All in One Shot - no sipping bullshit
  • Maybe put in a glass this time
  • Middle of the day

The Sleep Experiment (I Chose Noise)

  • Apr 5, 2008
  • Post a comment

Little back story:

For some time now, my sleep schedule has been, for the lack of better word, screwed up beyond belief. I've been waking up between the times of 3-4:30pm and not going to sleep until 5:30-8:00am. This has been happening for a month. No, I don't work graveyard shift because I don't have a job, or class for that matter (that's a long story in itself I wish not to explain). I'm just a night owl, it seems.

So, last morning around 8am, I basically said, "screw you sleep". Of course, my brain screamed at me for deciding this, my body was like "okay...". But I had to do something to keep sleep off of me, even though technically I didn't feel it. I decided to do my room a favor, and picked up -- not clean, since that involves dusting off furniture and other things, but just picking stuff off of the entertainment center, and mainly the floor. Took all of fifteen minutes. I was gonna vacuum the floor but, that was too much physical movement.

It was around 10am at the time, and I decided to pay assistance to my mom's workplace -- the junior high. In retrospect, I shouldn't have worn the clothes I did, but that's besides the point, it made up itself in entertainment. For the chunk of the day, I was tasked with grading papers, which took all of, say 10 minutes for each period, if that. I even ate school lunch for the first time in two and a half years -- square pizza. Let's just say, I forgot how terrible it tasted, and why did I eat this almost every day. Good thing I had chocolate milk, or else I would've been in trouble.

At that point, I felt the fingernails of sleep scratching my brain. Earlier, my mom gave me $5, and I had 4 from earlier (can't remember where it came from actually), so I had a grand total of $9. Then I thought, when was the last time I had a energy drink? But, I then said it had it has to be stronger than Red Bull and Monster (to a lesser extent, Rockstar) since I have a high tolerance of caffiene, it seems.

I stumbled on a few review sites, and one drink caught my eye, the 5hour Chaser (commercial). I read the reviews, and I was going to get this drink, even though it was in 2oz bottles. Maybe even 3? But as I went on, there were reports of sickness (vomiting, nausea, diarrhea), the phenomena of the Niacin flush (skin redding, itchy, prickly sensations everywhere -- but it lasts from 5-30 minutes), the jitters, ineffectiveness, and to the extreme -- hospital trips, stomach ulcers, palpitations (actually, I don't mind this)... needless to say, I was a bit nervous. But then again, I have tolerance to Niacin (more on that later), and some suggested to drink half the bottle. After my services, I went to Walmart. Sleep was now lightly pushing my brain with it's fingertips.

To my dismay, I didn't find it. That or I just looked in the wrong place, which I probably did. Probably lists it as a supplement instead of, y'know a drink. Next time I shall look harder or just go into another store. Anyway, I looked in the aisle right before checkout, and they had this drink called Headshot. They had many flavors -- blueberry, cherry, and I think lemon. I picked out Blueberry and checked out. It was around 3:30 at this point.

I decided to read on it, seeing I got it from Wal-mart... I only found one review, and it basically said it did the trick while it tasted good. So, after much deliberation (ie, eating something) I popped the cap. It smelled like, well, blue raspberry. I only took a sip. It went down smooth, but that aftertaste... well, how can I put this. It reminded me of Nyquil. Not the red one, no, the green kind. I gagged a little. I got a tinge of rush, for about 30 minutes.

Time went on, sipped a little more. Then, a side effect. I ah, had to keep frequenting the bathroom. I think it just disagreed with the potato wedges I had with it. After that little fiasco, I just sipped on it. The second one only happened when I looked down and widened. It felt like a drunken vertigo. In fact, it felt like I was just in a haze, but chalk that up to my brain crying for sleep Time went on, and at one point, I just blacked out for about 15 minutes -- around 9 or so. My good friend suggested I try to get to 10pm. I did, after I chugged the last shot (it was rather difficult). And I called it quits at 11:30.

I didn't wake up until 10:30am, but I just laid there until 1pm. In total, I stayed up for 32 hours. I haven't done that in ages, but still, that's a long time. It was extended by the energy drink, my stubbornness and ignoring the of the brain, I sat at my desk instead of my bed...

I'd say the experiment was a success, however, I should've attempted to find 5 hour Chaser. Maybe, I should try to get both of them and see what happens then? And with or without food?

Goodness.
